James D. Houston
James is a strategy and startup specialist. He is an expert at classical military strategy having studied Sun Tsu, Clausewitz, Musashi and others for over 30 years. He has developed The Rules, Element Theory and The Frame Strategic models for business.
BIO
At the age of 22 James started his first business, a wellness company that successfully operated for 18 years providing corporate wellness for companies such as Volvo, Wolverine, Alliant Techsystems, Corning and many others. In addition to corporate wellness James owned and operated four independently owned commercial Fitness facilities. The largest was a 20,000-square-foot facility located in Blacksburg, Virginia, that served Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg community. He sold that corporation in 2010.
After successfully selling his Wellness Corporation James purchased several Allstate Insurance Agencies and combined them into one of the largest agencies in the DC metro area. His Agency has a multi-state reach, serving Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, DC and Delaware.
In 2023 James purchased a Tax and Accounting practice in Northern Virginia, just outside the DC beltway that has been serving clients for over 11 years.
James also owns Web Ninja Pro, a web design and hosting company.
In addition to his other ventures, James and his business partner Whit Kelly own 12 Live Marketing and 12 Live Staffing. These companies focus on the needs of the insurance industry for marketing consulting, staffing and training. They have developed strong ties with the non profit sector and have several partnerships to help develop jobs for Appalachian workers.
James is currently building an AI company that he projects will be multi-national by 2027. He is excited by the vast possibilities with AI and looks to be at the forefront of AI implementation.
James started training in martial arts in 1985 and has consistently trained since that time. He has black belts in karate, kung fu, Goshin-Jitsu and Aiki-Jiu Jitsu. Martial arts has been an extremely important part of the development of Houston's work ethic, and ignited a lifelong study of classical martial strategy and its application in business.
Houston has also run a parallel path in the entertainment industry and has been able to use his martial arts skills combined with his business acumen to act as talent, and also producer, in several entertainment projects over the years. He has worked on films such as BLACK KNIGHT, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS, BAD BOYS 2 and CROSSBREED. Currently you can see James as on air talent on the TV shows STARS STUNTS ACTION and CULTURE SHOCK on Tubi TV.
James has trained in stunt driving, high falls, wire work, fight choreography, and weapons for film. He also holds a consultant position and acts as a senior producer for Bazooka Bunny Limited, a United Kingdom Based company that produces entertainment projects throughout the world.
